The active substance is drostanolone which has both androgenic and anabolic properties. It acts on androgen receptors to cause protein synthesis, nitrogen and potassium retention. It is also known to inhibit prolactin and estrogen receptors which accounts for its antitumour activity. It also does not have known progestogenic activity
